This section is for all the many people Sorana worked, learned and laughed with.
My heartfelt thanks to all those that attended my wife's funeral and to the many who were unable to attend. I knew my wife was special but I didn't realise how lucky I was to have so much of her to myself for the last 26 years. You have strengthened my family with your kindness and words of love for Sorana. May God grant you the same support and love when you are faced with the loss of loved ones.

This site was originally designed to record and inform others of my experiences of conservation and creating an outside learning environment where the natural world can meet human needs both in the physical, emotional and spiritual sense. With the loss of my beloved wife I am not sure what the future holds but I'm not ready to lay down my scythe and spade just yet.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO EMAIL ANY WORDS OR PICTURES THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO INCLUDE IN THIS SECTION. It might be a staff meal or training course, or walk. Sorana often went walking with friends from work. Anything that helps all Sorana's colleagues remember and celebrate her work as a doctor, colleague and friend.
I will cherish every single moment we have spent together as trainee, consultant colleague and as a very special friend. I always admired the positive energy and your sheer resilience. In fact I will always be jealous of that. I'm yet to see anyone as kind, generous and compassionate as you. You made sure you always respected others and I made me wonder how someone can be so nice. I will miss that infectious smile and your enthusiasm.
I will always treasure our friendship, Sorana. Bye for now till we meet again, my friend. Rest in peace (Netke Bagyashree).
I worked with Sorano many times and nothing made her smile more than when she was talking of her family. Soranos passing has left a hole in our Theatre Family heart (Julie Slater)
Sorana has been a constant fixture in my career, and a supportive and fabulous colleague, someone I would not hesitate to call a friend. No matter the situation, she would make time to offer her ear, shoulder or hugs to anyone who needed it, regardless of how difficult she found things, and was undoubtedly one of the most caring and considerate people I have ever worked with. Her perseverance and determination to continue her own career in the face of any obstacle, alongside her compassion for patients and colleagues alike will forever be an inspiration to a huge cohort of anaesthetists across not only the West Midlands, but also the country. I cannot begin to fathom the feelings that you and your children are currently processing. Her presence will be missed by so many.

I have enjoyed working with Sorana for many years in obstetrics. I have always been amazed at her resilience, her ability to bounce back to work with her quiet, calm and reassuring presence for our women in theatre. I will really miss her, such a genuine and professional member of our team. Sending love to her family, and her children who she loves so much xx

I am so honored to have known and learnt so much from Sorana as a mentor and a friend. I am in awe of how she continued to help and support others no matter what she was going through. I have personally benefited from her endless support during my training. She was always an anaesthetist I aspired to be like. She was incredible and extremely humble professionally and an even more incredible and beautiful as a person. Her kindness and compassion truly knows no bounds. Your beautiful smile, your incredible strength and kind supportive words will forever be in my heart and mind Sorana. I cannot thank you enough for everything. (Beth Frost)

Sorana was a colleague in obstetrics for many years. She was always kind and gentle with every patient and also with the staff around her even. This was true even on the busiest and most challenging day and is all the more remarkable considering how ill she must have been feeling for much of that time. It was as if she carried her own bubble of calm with her. She will be much missed. (Helen Sullivan)

It is with deep fondness that the education team remember Sorana, whose contributions to education, training, and the support of colleagues made a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Sorana was one of those rare people who combined expertise with kindness, always generous with her time, her support, and her wisdom. She was a go-to person — someone you could rely on completely — and her strength made a real difference in the lives of many.
Throughout her illness, she continued to give of herself with extraordinary grace. Even when facing her own health challenges, she was thinking of others — offering support, especially during the difficult times of shielding, and finding ways to bring her lived experience into her work to help others feel seen and supported.
Her warmth, courage, and deep sense of care leave an enduring legacy in our education community and beyond. Sorana taught us not just through her professional work, but by her example — showing how compassion, generosity, and dignity can touch and lift those around us.
She will be greatly missed, but the difference she made will be long remembered (Helen Steed)

My wife was totally committed to her vocation and the care of others. She loved her family deeply and was always willing to listen and impart her warmth and love.
She always spoke with great affection about her colleagues and thoroughly enjoyed going to work.
I know she has many friends at Stoke and Wolverhampton and myself and family send our love and best wishes at this sad time.

Sorana was a great colleague and friend. She was a great doctor, and an inspiring person. One of our lights has gone out and we are all the poorer for her passing. I hope you gain some comfort for the love and respect she had from amongst all her colleagues. I pray God gives you strength and fortitude at this difficult time. For God takes back what belongs to Him, our loved ones may leave us, but the hand of God is always there to help us through these times. In time these dark days of pain will be replaced with smiling memories.

Sorana was a wonderful woman and professional colleague having a serenity and compassionate nature that brought a very real warmth to all interactions she had patients & staff. She is missed keenly. I pray that Sorana's Christian faith will be of some comfort to you (Dr Simon Fenner).
As a family we have done our best to enjoy our time together and as Catholics celebrating Easter and the resurrection has given us great comfort (Simon husband).
I have know Sorana since she started training in Anaesthetics. She was very forthcoming, helpful and always craved to improve the quality of care. We all miss her. I pray god to give you strength and courage to overcome the loss of your wife.

From our first shifts together back in 2014, Sorana has been a constant fixture in my career, and a supportive and fabulous colleague, someone I would not hesitate to call a friend.
